Dallas Stars vs Calgary Flames Live Online Streaming

It's the first meeting of the season. The teams split four low-scoring games last season, with Dallas Stars winning the first two games 3-1 and the Calgary Flames winning the next two by identical 2-1 scores. It was the third consecutive season in which the teams split the season series.

The Flames, usually slow starters, are trying for the first 5-0-0 start in franchise history. They figure to get a roaring welcome at the Pengrowth Saddledome after Thursday's 4-3 shootout win at Edmonton -- their second road victory against their hated rival in less than a week. The only other time in team history that Calgary started 4-0-0 was in 1993-94. Dallas captain Brenden Morrow missed all but 18 games last season with a knee injury that required surgery. Judging by his two-goal performance against Edmonton, he's pretty close to 100 percent.

When you're hot, you're hot -- and the Flames are sizzling. Their season-opening winning streak was extended Thursday when Rene Bourque scored the tying goal with 1.5 seconds left in regulation and Olli Jokinen got the shootout winner on a goal that wasn't allowed until a video review.

First of six meetings this season between Southeast Division rivals. They split last season’s series, though two of Carolina’s victories came in overtime. Florida earned at least a point in five of the six games. Cory Stillman of the Panthers and Tuomo Ruutu of the Hurricanes led all scorers with three goals apiece.

Returning home for its first game in North America after splitting a pair in Helsinki, Finland, as part of the 2009 Compuware NHL Premiere, Florida gets a major test right off the bat. The Panthers got off to a great start with a shootout win over the Blackhawks, a legit contender in the Western Conference, but they were stymied by Antti Niemi and shut out in the second game of the back-to-back.

A stormy start to the season in Carolina finally came to an end Tuesday with a 2-1 shootout victory over Tampa Bay. The Hurricanes had been shut out by the Flyers in their season opener and soundly defeated by the Bruins over the weekend. Cam Ward rebounded from being pulled in Boston to stop 27 shots and two shootout attempts by the Lightning.
